Hi guys! Happy Friday!
I got a new phone this week, and it inspired a much-needed camera roll cleanout. 52,700 photos seems excessive, no? What started as a lot of deleting turned into a fun walk down memory lane, so I thought I’d drop some of the gems that have never seen the light of day.
Along with some practical findings — a reminder of great outfits I’d forgotten about — this scroll also resurfaced weird, delightful throwbacks from the set of Dickinson, a vintage photo of my grandparents I’m obsessed with, bts from a music video that never came out, and the time I accidentally found myself in a British tabloid dressed in a catsuit. As they say, a picture's worth a thousand words, but here you’ll get the contextual what, when, and why behind them. Think of it as a mini show-and-tell before I perma-delete or throw ‘em on a hard drive.
1. My first corset-fitting for Dickinson! This was in The Bowery Hotel between shows (I was on tour at the time). It was before we started shooting the show; the costume team needed my corset size so they could construct the dresses accordingly. I was wearing a corset 95% of the time on that show, except for the rare occasion I got to wear a nightgown or cosplay a man (remember that episode?) Most days on set, someone on the costume team would tie up my corset as tight as it could go and then take a tape measure around my waist in the corset to make sure I’d fit perfectly into the dress I was supposed to wear. It was…restricting. I remember distinctly coming back to set after Christmas break, and we all struggled.
2. Soundcheck. Love this outfit. This dress was Ref but feels like something you could find on Dôen. Then just a good white sneaker.
4. Street art. This one stopped me. I'm not sure where I was, but it looks like it had just rained on the street, which might've upped the saturation and made it pop.
5. A Celine blazer I wore to death. This was my favorite outfit for a long time. The blazer is Celine, and I recently got rid of it because I wore it to absolute death. I still have those boots (also Celine). Re/Done jeans. I love this as an outfit formula: bodysuit, jeans, blazer, boots.
7. A statement puffer. An interesting puffer jacket is always good to have on hand. This short one is special, and this long one is wild (in the best way).
9. Emily's poems! These were all the poems that we used as props on Dickinson. The scraps were stuffed into her desk drawer and sometimes strewn across the floor. Read this piece in AD about that show’s incredible, historical set design.
10. Easy outfit + custom phone case. I can’t tell you where I was or what I was doing, but I like this look. More to the point, this photo makes me want a new phone case with my initials on it. Currently, my open tabs include this initial case and this candystriped one. Cute, no?
11. A jacket that looks like a basketball jersey. This is a photo a friend of mine took of me on a random night out in New York, and it just popped up in my photo library. Both the jacket and the fanny pack are Alexander Wang; the jeans I'm wearing could've been as well. I’d definitely wear this again or something similar.
12. Getting ready for Camp. This was before the Met Gala, the year the theme was Camp. I wore this Viktor and Rolf dress that was so perfect. I tried every dress in the collection during our fitting, which was just a dream for all of us.
13. “Afterlife” music video. Looking back, now having been a bride, this feels kind of bridal. The dress is Vera Wang.
14. Cool 'fit. The top is one of those corset t-shirts (there’s also an alt on The RealReal). If you look closely, you’ll see black French tips on my nails. What a time!
15. Catwoman. Ohh, this was fun. I was in London for something Katie Grand was hosting. These shoes (I think they were Femme) were so hard to walk in. They're PVC and they'd stretched a little bit. There was a set of stairs, and I was trying just to beeline up them and into the party, but these photographers were yelling at me to turn around. I turned around, grabbed the railing to steady myself, and they got this one shot. I walked inside, and the next day I saw it in the newspaper. Some things just happen!
16. Inspo. I love the colors here, and Cher is my forever inspo.
17. My grandparents. They're so cool! Sometimes when I’m at my mom's house, I take photos of her old photos.
18. BTS of a music video that never came out. I’m very into this sweater. It’s giving Elder Statesman vibes...it might be Elder Statesman, actually.
19. Love this look. It was a personal shoot with the photographer Sasha Samsonova. She's so great, and before this, I'd been wanting to shoot with her forever.
20. I want this printed as artwork. It's so pretty.
Okay, that’s all I’ve got for you. Write me back and let me know how many photos you currently have in your camera roll—I’m curious!

Highlighting your comments on the previous week’s issue. Today, we hear Jordan’s response to Intro to Interiors.
“This issue came at the absolute best time for me, as my husband and I recently moved into a house for the first time and have been navigating our different design styles. I would describe myself as neutral, simple, but I enjoy creative pieces that I can pick up at an antique shop and maybe DIY it into something beautiful. However, my husband wants the whole color wheel with no real cohesiveness.
Fortunately, we have found a shared connection through florals and have been incorporating so many floral patterns into our house while adding some neutral/modern pieces, such as a light oak coffee table. Your mom’s advice to find something in common really resonated with me. Yes, it might take a few conversations and late-night browsing to find something we both enjoy, but we’ve had so much fun putting our house together! Also, if there are any floral patterns or stores with amazing floral items, please share immediately!” -Jordan
