Hi, my loves! Happy Friday. How are you? It’s 90 here and it's got me thinking of dressing for summer (maybe I’ll make a board). Speaking of fashion, I enjoyed watching the Met Gala looks roll out earlier this week. I'll tell you about my favorites ahead — and about the year I went to the Met in a blonde wig and ended the night covered in vodka. Also, thank you for sending some great questions for this week’s AMA. These were fun.

Inside this issue: My most unforgettable Met Gala, advice (and resources) for dealing with a friendship breakup, what’s inspiring me lately, and my current hyperfixation snack at Trader Joe’s.

Before we get into it, I want to send extra love to all the mothers reading this issue, including my own. I love you, Mom. Happy Mother’s Day (see you Sunday!)

Now, onto your questions!

Such a cool suit! Where is it from? -Jenny

Thanks! It’s Dolce & Gabbana. Whenever I'm doing press, I want my outfit to represent the movie I'm promoting, usually a specific character. This particular suit with the pinstripe felt a lot like Stack.

Favorite Met Gala look from this year? -Christina

I thought this year’s theme was so cool. I loved Zoe Saldaña and Mona Patel in Thom Browne — the whole Thom Browne table killed it. Rihanna, of course. Colman Domingo. Also, it didn’t really fit the theme as much as others, but I loved Sofia Richie's dress.

Favorite Met look you’ve ever done? -Greer

You were there, G! The year I wore Iris van Herpen (I think it was 2021) was a fave. I wore this blonde wig and nobody recognized me! I was in full conversation with people who’ve had me over for dinner, and they didn't know they were talking to me. Later, they told me, "Dude, I had no idea that was you." Strange but fun!

Part two of the story: Greer, remember getting back to our hotel room (it was like 2am) and trying to get that dang wig off my head!? I still have the seven-minute video of us trying to contain our laughter because that baby was cemented to my scalp. We couldn’t rip it — it’s this beautiful, handmade, lacefront wig — but we were delusionally tired and just wanted to go to bed. Eventually, we went to the minibar… vodka breaks down wig glue.

Which BS issue has been the most fun to make? -Tess

I love this question. Our little Bs at the end of each issue are so fun. In terms of stories that stick out to me...I love the interview we did with the guys at Queen City Vintage. I loved the issue I did with Greer, where we talked about our mental health tips. And of course, the one with Josh. I think the throughline is the casual conversational aspect. I started this whole thing, Beau Society, to give you guys a letter in your inbox every week that felt like my text messages with my friends, and those issues feel most like that to me.

Going through a best friend breakup atm - any tips? -Maddie

I'm sorry, those are never easy. Friendships are special and precious and can be tricky because, like any relationship, they change and evolve, and sometimes you drift apart. That’s okay! I've listened to some great podcasts on friendships recently. I'd recommend this one with Michelle Obama and Issa Rae, and this one, too. I think they’ll help you let go. Also, trust that you’ll have many best friends throughout your life. Maybe you’re about to meet your next one.

What’s your best tip for networking and making professional relationships? -Brandon

Hmm, I’m not great at networking. It feels transactional and forced. I try to reframe networking as just connecting with another person. But as far as building professional relationships, I always try to lead with curiosity, generosity, and good listening.

Thinking of cutting my hair short for summer. How’s the short-hair lifestyle going for you? -Mya

I love it! I don’t know how drastic it would be for you, but regardless, I would say go for it with one caveat: Make sure you’re ready. Be as honest as you can. It’s a big change. When I cut my hair, I felt an initial shock, and I think if I wasn’t prepared to feel that, it could have been upsetting.

What’s been inspiring you lately—books, music, people? -Camden

Moviegoers! I have friends who are so into the difference between Sinners in 35mm versus Sinners in 70mm. Ryan has done such an amazing job being vocal about the whole process of how this film was made to be seen. I love that people are enjoying that technical part of it. It feels like the experience of going out to the movies is back!

What role models did you look up to growing up? -Sarah

My older brother. I am so lucky to have an older sibling to watch go through the trial and error of...everything. He was right in front of me — three years is the perfect age gap, in my opinion — so I was close enough to understand whatever he was going through and had the space to learn from it before it was my turn. We both have our own stuff, but I feel so incredibly lucky to have an older sibling.

Which of the locations you filmed in has been your favorite? -Ravva

Paris and Italy were my favorites ever. We shot Romeo and Juliet in Italy. A movie I did called Three Days to Kill was in Paris. More recently, New Orleans and Atlanta. I have a soft spot for Atlanta. I've made so many movies there. Last time I was there for an extended period, I was with Greer, and we really made it feel like home. The people are wonderful. There's great food. It's a cool little city. (Josh says the “good golf, too.”)

What’s your go-to snack? -Lindsay

I’m really into graham crackers lately. I packed them for a car ride this week. Those were Honey Maid, but I love the cinnamon graham crackers from Trader Joe's. Dip 'em in milk. Forget it.

Favorite fashion look from the Sinners promo? -Mikayla

The red Tamara Ralph dress I wore to the New York premiere.

What is your ideal day off? -Savannah

I'm sleeping as late as I can. I'd love that to be 10am. Then I'll get a workout in. I'm going outside with the doggies. Maybe I’m going for a drive. It's a day that consists of as little as possible: nowhere to be, no makeup, just hanging with the being with the people I love.

Would love to see you hosting SNL someday. Is that something you would consider? -Lucy

Duh! Bucket list.

Go-to lip gloss or lip balm? -Lilly

I have this one in my bag right now. It’s fancier than usual.

What are your favorite fashion trends for this summer? -Angelica

I'm not sure I'm up on the trends enough to answer this, but I always love using summertime as an opportunity to wear more color.

TO WEAR: Brown mascara. I’m obsessed. I mentioned the Tower28 one a few weeks ago, but I also discovered this Ilia one with the tiny lash comb on the end.

TO GIFT: A weekend at The Ranch Hudson Valley. (Spotted it in this Mother’s Day gift guide — Mom, thoughts?)

TO READ: 21 observations from people watching.

TO CONSIDER: According to a psychologist, this is the No. 1 phrase that breaks up relationships

TO MAKE: Spring wedding soup.

Love,

Hailee (Beau)

Highlighting your comments on the previous week’s issue. Today, we hear Stephanie’s response to Asking my friends about motherhood?

I’m a childfree-by-choice woman, but I loved your issue on motherhood! I’ve watched so many of my close friends and sister-in-law become moms recently, and they’ve all had very individual experiences. Even though their experiences have differed, it’s been important to all of them to have open and honest discussions about motherhood. It has helped the new moms in my life feel less isolated, and it has helped me feel connected to their journey as well. Kudos to the moms! -Stephanie (Columbus, OH)
