Hello beautiful people!
A few days ago, I posted an ‘Ask Me Anything’ on our Beau Society Instagram (follow along if you don’t already!) and your responses truly made my week.
This may feel slightly out of context but before we dive in, I want to say that life is so precious, and amid everything, moments of connection like this remind me to slow down and appreciate what matters. Thank you for being here and part of this community we’re building!! Also, thank you for your genuine curiosity regarding my wing preference — for those of you wondering, it’s drums and flats and yes, your blue cheese hits different.
Now, I can’t wait for you to see if your question was pulled out of the hat (not actually a hat, but there was some randomness to the selection — I wish I could have answered everyone!). Let’s jump in!
Q — What was your goal when you decided to create Beau? -Ana Luísa (São Paulo, Brazil)
A — When I started creating Beau Society, one of the main goals was to create this space where I could share parts of my life with you all in a way that felt authentic to me. Now, as we’re growing, another goal is to connect with you guys and talk about shared interests and experiences!
Q — What do you do when you're low energy/kinda sad? -Alehtse (Mexico)
A — So, I tend to shut down when I’m feeling difficult emotions. I’m not saying shutting down is necessarily healthy, but I find taking a quick break to be alone with myself helps me get to a place where I can communicate how I’m feeling. I also try to take extra good care of myself. I eat well, exercise (a nice walk outside works wonders), and turn to things that make me happy: Watching a good rom-com, listening to music, calling a friend who always makes me laugh, writing, playing with my dogs.
Q — Is there a hobby/interest you would love to learn? I’m trying to learn how to crochet:P -Alexa (New York)
A — Ooo crochet! How is that going?? I really enjoy cooking and baking and I’m happy to report I’m improving (lol). It’s all thanks to the Food Network, YouTube, cooking classes, and some very honest taste testers.
Q — Anything you can say about Arcane Season 2? -Yolis (Mexico)
A — Did you hear the news? Act 1 premieres November 9th, Act 2 premieres November 16th, and Act 3 premieres November 23rd!!! This season is somehow better than the first. Playing Vi has been such a privilege. She’s ruthless but never loses hope, and her journey through season 2 has challenged me emotionally. Voice acting has taught me stamina — it’s so much more physical than you think — patience, and trust in the process. We’ve been doing this for years and I’m always in awe at the finished product.
Q — What affirmations do you live by? -Ann (California)
A — Everything happens for a reason.
Q — Truffle pizza & espresso martini night at Mamo for nyc beau girls when -Francesca (New York City)
A — Maybe I’ve talked about how this is my ideal night in the city and I don’t remember, or you’re a mind-reader. Either way, my answer is yesterday.
Q — Is there going to be new collabs with other people in next newsletters? 💗 -Zoe (Puerto Rico)
A — Yes! I love bringing people on. Who would you want to see featured?
Q — Have you ever visited Mexico? Or when will your next visit be? We would love to have you visit us. -Paulo (Celaya, Mexico)
A — Yes, I’ve visited Mexico and it’s truly such a beautiful country with rich culture and history. One of my favorite experiences was visiting Jalisco where I toured a tequila distillery. I was able to walk through the vast agave fields too, which was incredible. I even tried my hand at cutting the leaves off an agave plant myself, which gave me a whole new appreciation for jimadors and the tequila-making process. It’s a memory I’ll cherish forever. More on that trip later…
Q — I’m having a girls night and we’re making our fav cocktails - i’d love to know YOUR fav cocktail -lna (Trbovlje, Slovenia)
A — Margarita on the rocks and depending on the mood, maybe a little salt, sugar, or tajín…
Q — Love advice please. 🥺 I’m 19 and scared I’ll never meet my person. -Ezzy (Maine)
A — I wouldn’t say I’m qualified to give love advice, but I know this much: Your person is YOU before it’s anyone else. I saw this amazing interview with Viola Davis and I’ve now listened to it so many times I’ve memorized the message. Give it a watch ❤️
Q — Can you tell us something about your mysterious role in the new Ryan Coogler-directed movie👀 -Milena (Milan, Italy)
A — No ;)
Q — Would love to know more about your fitness routine:) -Alexa (New York)
A — My dad is a personal trainer and sports nutritionist, so I grew up in a household where healthy living was a priority. But over the years I’ve learned the importance of balance. Training hard is something I love (and having my dad as my trainer makes it even more fun) but I also believe in treating myself without guilt! Now and then, I go to townnnn on my favorite treats — no holding back! But after that, I jump right back into my routine. It’s all about balance and discipline, which I get from my dad. In training, we focus on a combination of strength, cardio, and functional exercises. He pushes me harder than anyone else could, but he also believes in me more than anyone. That support and challenge is what keeps me motivated and always striving to improve. I’m so lucky to have him by my side!
Q — What helps when you’re feeling overworked? (I’m in high school and I’m drained) -Emma (Virginia)
A — So this is always far easier said than done but taking a break helps. When I feel overwhelmed, pausing and zooming out a little bit can do wonders. If I have 15 minutes, I am being super intentional with that time. I’m taking space away from my phone, getting some fresh air, and maybe talking to a friend — those things always help calm my nervous system.
Q — This may be a boring question, but what are the logistics of running a weekly newsletter? -Griffin (Georgia)
A — This newsletter is my biggest obsession right now, so I don’t find your question boring at all! Logistically, it’s two-pronged. I spend a lot of time considering what you guys are talking about and interested in (I read all of your comments, questions, and emails). But then in my day-to-day life, I’m mindful of finding those little pockets of inspiration that happen in the moment and writing them down so I can share them with you. So, there’s some planning, strategy, and information gathering, but a lot of it is on the fly.
Q — How do i buy the beau sweatshirt i need it urgently -Rory (Washington DC)
A — Stand by…
Thank you for all your questions! Let’s do this again sometime? See you next Friday. Or maybe sooner than that…
Extra love,
Hailee (Beau)
